چکیده
Melanotic Neuroectodermal Tumour of Infancy (MNTI) is a rare neoplasm typically reported in infancy, involving the head and neck regions. Although described as benign tumour, growth rapid has high local recurrence rate. Due to locally destructive growth, it can easily be misdiagnosed malignant leading unwarranted potentially harmful interventions. Therefore, histopathological assessment pertinent confirming diagnosis. Early surgical resection critical limiting cosmetic disfigurement but challenging requires prompt careful planning ensure optimal clearance. crucial approach anterior maxillary swellings an infant with index suspicion consider MNTI important differential diagnosis timely plan for appropriate early intervention. We report case presenting rapidly growing intra-oral swelling who underwent tumour excision was later confirmed MNTI. discuss clinical, radiological, histological features challenges diagnosing managing this childhood tumour.

Melanotic neuroectodermal tumour of infancy is an extremely rare neoplasm arising in newborns and young children, typically involving the face or cranium. A case arising from the maxilla, requiring extensive resection with a near-total maxillectomy, is presented. A thorough review of the literature on this unusual tumour is provided, with emphasis on prognostic factors and appropriate treatment.
